iCan - Now More Than Ever
Fellow Federal Employees –
Times are uncertain for us all. But THANK YOU so much for your generosity of spirit. Though we fell slightly short of our goal for the 2008 Campaign, the Federal community responded to the region’s heartfelt call by raising over $3 million to support the efforts of deserving local, national and International charities.
My commitment to the work of the Southeastern Michigan Area Combined Federal Campaign remains strong. I was proud to chair the 2008 Campaign and eagerly anticipate holding that position in 2009. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to tell you why CFC is so vital and why your participation is so important.
The theme for this year – iCan, Now More Than Ever - says it all.
The lowercase “i” symbolizes that I am never more important than the good I can do. For me, that means I am willing to give freely my time and my money to make a difference for my community, my region and my world. And I can do good work. iCan.
No one in Southeastern Michigan needs to be convinced that things are tough for everyone. Everywhere there are layoffs and iconic businesses in our region are closing or filing for bankruptcy. Now, more than ever, we have to make ourselves part of the solution.
I appreciate this second opportunity to work with the Combined Federal Campaign. I hope you will join me in my efforts in making this one of the most successful campaigns ever!
Sincerely,

Linda C. Walker, Chair
2009 Southeastern Michigan Area Combined Federal Campaign
Director, Regional Office
