The Mission of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is to support and promote philanthropy through a voluntary program that is employee focused, cost efficient, and effective in providing all Federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.

iCan - Now More Than Ever

Fellow Federal Employees –

Times are uncertain for us all. But THANK YOU so much for your generosity of spirit. Though we fell slightly short of our goal for the 2008 Campaign, the Federal community responded to the region’s heartfelt call by raising over $3 million to support the efforts of deserving local, national and International charities.

Lind Walker, 2009 Campaign ChairMy commitment to the work of the Southeastern Michigan Area Combined Federal Campaign  remains strong. I was proud to chair the 2008 Campaign and eagerly anticipate holding that position in 2009. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to tell you why CFC is so vital and why your participation is so important.

The theme for this year – iCan, Now More Than Ever - says it all.

              2009 Campaign Theme

The lowercase “i” symbolizes that I am never more important than the good I can do. For me, that means I am willing to give freely my time and my money to make a difference for my community, my region and my world. And I can do good work. iCan.

No one in Southeastern Michigan needs to be convinced that things are tough for everyone. Everywhere there are layoffs and iconic businesses in our region are closing or filing for bankruptcy. Now, more than ever, we have to make ourselves part of the solution.

I appreciate this second opportunity to work with the Combined Federal Campaign. I hope you will join me in my efforts in making this one of the most successful campaigns ever!

Sincerely,

Linda C. Walker, Chair

2008 Campaign Results

The 2008 Southeastern Michigan Area Combined Federal Campaign raised $3,045,681 to support the efforts of the charities important to Federal employees in the region.

The SEMI Area CFC strives to manage donor dollars efficiently and to cut costs wherever possible. Last year, the administrative fee to run the campaign was 7.4%. This means that nearly 93 cents of every dollar donated was distributed to the charities participating in the campaign.

The Better Business Bureau considers a charity to be operating within acceptable guidelines if its administrative fees are as high as 25%. The Southeastern Michigan Area Combined Federal Campaign is proud of its commitment to efficiency and fiscal responsibility and will continue in its efforts to be good stewards, safeguarding the interests of the generous donors who keep the campaign running and successful.
