Why should I contribute to the CFC?

Each One Help One... EveryOne MattersThose who provide charitable services are valuable to those they serve. The volunteers who donate their precious time to make a difference are valuable as well. But this important work couldn't be done without assistance from you. As federal employees, you serve the public every day. This year, we ask that you extend that commitment by providing value everyday, donating to the Southeast Michigan Area Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) to support the more than 3,000 local, national, and international charities who participate.

You can Open the Door to Hope for a wide variety of charities. All charities that apply and meet basic requirements set by the Office of Personnel Management are included in this campaign. These charities serve a range of causes from local concerns and national issues to health care problems and international relief and development challenges.

You can Open the Door to Hope and make an impact on people’s lives with your gifts. CFC charities help people who really need it… your neighbor, a member of your family, or someone halfway around the globe. When charities know that your payroll deduction gift will keep coming throughout the year, they can plan better to deliver their services more reliably to those in need.

You can Open the Door to Hope and make your gift go farther, thanks to the low cost of running the CFC. By regulation, the campaign administrative budget is a fixed amount approved by the Local Federal Coordinating Committee. You can be confident in the oversight and management of the Southeast Michigan Area Combined Federal Campaign. Our CFC is managed by a board composed of a diverse group of federal employees called the Local Federal Coordinating Committee. In turn, the LFCC selects a charitable organization to implement the day-to-day operations of the campaign and to serve as its administrator. OPM regulations call this organization the Principal Combined Fund Organization. Strict requirements guide the PCFO’s operations.

You can Open the Door to Hope and get rewarded. Those contributing $234.00 or more are eligible for special incentive items.
